Advance your career in sports science and high performance with Australia’s only postgraduate strength and conditioning program combining advanced coursework with hands-on placement in elite sport.  

Delivered in partnership between Victoria University and the Western Bulldogs Institute, this program offers a unique pathway to gain both theoretical knowledge and real-world experience in a professional high-performance environment. 

The Graduate Certificate in Strength & Conditioning is designed for aspiring and established professionals in sports science, strength and conditioning, and allied health practitioners who are ready to advance their careers in high-performance sport.  

Applicants may be eligible if they have completed an Australian Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Exercise Science, Human Movement (or a related field), or possess a minimum of five years’ relevant experience within health, fitness, or high-performance environments.  

The program is ideally suited to fitness professionals seeking to broaden their expertise, gain hands-on experience in elite sporting settings, and develop meaningful professional networks within the industry. 

This one-semester, full-time program combines advanced postgraduate coursework with hands-on experience in elite sport, giving students the skills and insights to accelerate their careers. Participants will spend over 40 hours embedded within the Western Bulldogs high-performance department, gaining direct access to AFL, AFLW, VFL, and VFLW training, rehabilitation, and match-day operations. The program also includes masterclasses and networking opportunities with Western Bulldogs High Performance staff, providing invaluable industry connections.  

As Australia’s only Graduate Certificate offering immersive exposure to elite sport in action, it gives students a rare opportunity to experience the day-to-day workings of a professional sporting organisation while applying their learning in real-world settings.
