AUSactive CEO Ken Griffin Appointment Announced

AUSactive has announced the appointment of AUSactive CEO Ken Griffin, who will officially commence the role on 27 October 2025.

This appointment marks an important milestone for the organisation. In addition, a structured transition will take place with outgoing CEO Barrie Elvish to ensure continuity.

Leadership Experience

Ken Griffin brings more than 20 years of experience across healthcare, not-for-profit and corporate sectors.

Throughout his career, he has held senior roles with:

  • GlaxoSmithKline
  • Hospira (now Pfizer)
  • Linfox
  • Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA)

As a result, he brings strong expertise in leadership, advocacy and preventative health.

Strengthening the Future of AUSactive

The appointment of AUSactive CEO Ken Griffin comes at a time of continued growth for the organisation.

Importantly, he has worked closely with government, healthcare providers and industry stakeholders. Therefore, he brings valuable insight into policy, engagement and long-term strategy.

Board Welcomes the Appointment

AUSactive Chair Emmett Williams welcomed the appointment.

Recognising Barrie Elvish’s Contribution

Ken Griffin succeeds Barrie Elvish, who has led the organisation since 2019.

During his tenure, Mr Elvish:

  • Rebuilt trust across the organisation
  • Strengthened financial sustainability
  • Secured more than $1 million in government funding
  • Elevated the role of physical activity in national health policy

As a result, AUSactive is now well positioned for continued success.

AUSactive CEO Ken Griffin said he is excited to step into the role.
