AUSactive has this week announced the successful candidates in the 2022 Directors Election, welcoming Registered Exercise Professional (REP) Ryan Hogan and Business Member Elaine Jobson from Jetts Fitness to the Board and the re-election of REP Member Jen Dugard who has served on the Board for the past three years.
AUSactive Chair Jayne Blake said the new Board appointments reflected the continued commitment the association has in providing leadership and expertise to the growing health and fitness industry.
“We are extremely proud of the calibre of candidates that contested this year’s election and would like to extend a warm welcome to Ryan Hogan and Elaine Jobson who join recently appointed Board members Tim Firth and Emmett Williams as new members on the AUSactive Board,” Ms Blake said.
“Providing strategic leadership is the foundation of the Board’s responsibility, so ensuring we have experts from within our industry and the sectors that support our members is imperative.
“Having the support of our network in Board appointments is vital to our success, relevance and strategic direction and this year we were extremely impressed with the strong participation from members who voted.”
2022 Newly Appointed Board Members
Ryan Hogan – REP Member Director
Ryan Hogan is an experienced fitness industry Chief Executive (Les Mills Asia Pacific and formerly Australian Fitness Network). He is also owner and operator of a private consulting firm and is a well-regarded public speaker/host and experienced Group Fitness instructor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree (Commerce), a Certificate IV in Coaching and a Certificate III in Fitness.
Elaine Jobson – Business Member Director
Elaine has more than 30 years of experience in the fitness industry, working in executive positions for the past 15 years with brand such as Fitness First, Virgin Active and Jetts Fitness. Elaine’s focus is on the important role the fitness industry can play in preventative health. As CEO of Jetts Fitness Australia, Elaine also led the acquisition of the franchise division of the brand from parent company Fitness & Lifestyle Group (FLG) via a management buyout.
Jen Dugard – Re-elected REP Member director
Jen Dugard is the founder of the Body Beyond Baby brand, creator of Fitness Professional education Safe Return to Exercise and author of the book How to Love your Body as much as your Baby.
Jen has over 13 years’ experience within the Fitness Industry in a range of roles from Personal Trainer, Outdoor Group Fitness business owner, mentor, educator and presenter and has served on the AUSactive Board for the past three years.
Emmett Williams – External Director
Emmett Williams, Bcom, GAICD, has had the rare experience of working throughout the fitness industry in multiple regions of the world, most recently returning to Australian shores after spending 10 years in the United States. Emmett now allocates most of his time as a founding partner & the CEO of APAC for the wearable technology company, Myzone.
Tim Firth – External Director
Tim Firth is a Solicitor of Leora Rose Law. He holds five postgraduate degrees, including a Juris Doctor; Master of Laws (international commercial law and dispute resolution); Graduate Diplomas in Strategic Leadership; Management (Education); and Legal Practice. Tim is the Chair of an Indigenous charity and holds Fellowships with the Governance Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Management.
