AUSactive is pleased to announce the candidates who will be contesting the upcoming ballot for appointment to the AUSactive Board of Directors. Nominees have been approved by AUSactive’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee following a robust assessment process against the Board Skills Matrix.
This year sees a strong pool of high calibre candidates, which is a resounding endorsement of the strategic direction of AUSactive and recognition of the role that AUSactive plays to lead and elevate the Australian exercise and fitness industry.
There are 11 candidates to fill 2 x REP Member positions:

There are 4 candidates to fill 1 x Business Member position:
- Scott Williams (Bikini Bods)
- Diana Williams (Fernwood)
- Justin Ashley (Fitness Playground)
- Elaine Jobson (Jetts)
When considering your vote, members are asked to reflect upon the level of skill, knowledge and experience that is required to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of a company director and to drive AUSactive’s strategic agenda and achieve industry goals. This includes to fulfill AUSactive’s aim for diversity and inclusion in our Board make up, as well as ensuring there is sufficient Board continuity to deliver on the strategic agenda.
Director Ballot
On 20 October 2022, a ballot will open for members to elect candidates to fill the three Director positions on the AUSactive Board. Current financial AUSactive REP and Business members are eligible to vote in the ballot, which will be managed independently by TrueVote.
We encourage all members to vote as this is your opportunity to have your say regarding these important positions.
Members will receive an invitation to participate in the ballot and information on the candidates’ experience from TrueVote on 20 October 2022 and will have until 3.00pm 3 November 2022 (AEDT) to cast their vote electronically.
Note:
- Only Business Members will be able to vote for Business Member Director nominations.
- Only REP Members will be able to vote for REP Member Director nominations.
The results of the ballot will be announced at AUSactive’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 24 November 2022. The successful elected Directors will commence their terms directly following the AGM and serve on the Board for three years.
Departing Directors
AUSactive extends its thanks to departing Directors Chris Hicks, Justin McDonell who will have reached their maximum tenure after both serving on the Board and Committees for many years and to Chantal Brodrick who will complete her term on 24 November 2022. We also extend our thanks to Paige Buse, who stepped down from the Board in June 2022. Their collaborative approach and active participation during their tenures has enriched the Board’s work and we wish them every success in their future endeavours.
