ActiveX Event Brings Free Fitness Fun to Rockingham Families
Rockingham families will have a new way to stay active this summer.
AUSactive has secured funding from the Western Australian Government to deliver ActiveX. This is a free, one-day obstacle course event taking place on 15 January 2026.
The event is open to participants aged 4 to 74. In addition, it will run during the school holidays, making it easy for families to attend.
A Fun and Inclusive Obstacle Course Experience
ActiveX is designed to be engaging and accessible.
The course will include:
- Ninja rigs
- Net climbs
- Walls
- Interactive obstacle challenges
As a result, participants can challenge themselves while enjoying the outdoors. The event also encourages connection within the local community.
Supporting Active and Connected Communities
AUSactive General Manager – Western Australia, Mike Beeney, said the event focuses on inclusion and participation.
“ActiveX gives Rockingham families a free and accessible way to be active together during the school holidays,” Mr Beeney said.
“Western Australia has incredible outdoor spaces. Therefore, this event creates a welcoming environment for people of all ages and fitness levels.”
He added that removing cost barriers is key.
“By removing cost and participation barriers, ActiveX introduces new ways to be active and supports healthier, more connected communities.”

The event has been developed to suit a wide range of abilities.
Participants can expect benefits such as:

As a result, ActiveX supports both physical and social health outcomes.
Local Partnerships Supporting the Event
AUSactive is delivering the event in partnership with RED DUST OCR, a Western Australian obstacle course provider.
In addition, the initiative is supported by:
- Western Australian Government
- City of Rockingham
- Community Bootcamp Project
- Local health and community organisations
Local fitness providers and AUSactive members will also be on site. Therefore, participants can explore ongoing activity options in their area.
