AUSactive is proud to announce a new agreement with Health Partners that recognises eligible AUSactive Personal Trainers and fitness businesses as approved providers.
Health Partners, a proud not-for-profit health fund, has been supporting South Australians for more than 85 years.
The agreement means eligible Health Partners members may now be able to claim benefits for personal training sessions, classes and gym memberships under their Extras policy when part of a medically necessary health management plan.
AUSactive CEO Barrie Elvish said the collaboration supports a shared mission of improving the health and wellbeing of Australians by giving more people affordable access to qualified exercise professionals.
“This partnership with Health Partners is another fantastic step in recognising the role of structured physical activity in the management of chronic health conditions,” Mr Elvish said.
“It’s also a win for our members, who now have greater access to clients seeking support through their private health insurance.
“We’re proud to see AUSactive members being recognised as legitimate providers of health and fitness services by one of the country’s most respected health funds.”
Eligible Health Partners members who hold Extras cover and have served any applicable waiting periods can claim benefits for personal training and gym services when the program is prescribed for a specific health condition by a doctor or allied health professional.
These claims are assessed under each fund’s individual eligibility requirements, and AUSactive supports members by managing the administrative processes required to verify provider eligibility.
What does this mean for AUSactive members?
Eligible AUSactive registered professional and business members can take advantage of this initiative if they have clients who are Health Partners members.
To claim eligible members can use their AUSactive member number as a provider number.
What do clients and members need to know?
It’s important to note that private health insurance coverage does not automatically guarantee a rebate.
Clients should contact Health Partners directly to understand the conditions of their cover, referral requirements, and rebate amounts.
