AUSactive Partners with Health Partners to Support Access to Exercise Professionals
AUSactive has announced a new agreement with Health Partners. This agreement recognises eligible AUSactive personal trainers and fitness businesses as approved providers.
Health Partners is a not-for-profit health fund. It has supported South Australians for more than 85 years.
As a result of this agreement, eligible Health Partners members may be able to claim benefits. These benefits apply to personal training sessions, classes and gym memberships. However, this only applies when services are part of a medically necessary health management plan.
Expanding Access to Affordable Health Support
AUSactive CEO Barrie Elvish said the partnership supports a shared goal of improving health outcomes.
“This partnership with Health Partners is an important step forward,” Mr Elvish said.
“It recognises the role of structured physical activity in managing chronic health conditions.”
He added that the agreement also benefits AUSactive members.
“It provides greater access to clients who are seeking support through private health insurance. In addition, it recognises AUSactive members as trusted providers of health and fitness services.”
How the Agreement Works
Eligible Health Partners members must meet specific requirements before claiming benefits.
They must:
- Hold Extras cover
- Serve any applicable waiting periods
- Have a program prescribed by a doctor or allied health professional
Importantly, claims are assessed based on each member’s policy. Therefore, eligibility and rebate amounts may vary.
AUSactive supports its members by managing the administrative processes required to verify provider eligibility.
What This Means for AUSactive Members
Eligible AUSactive registered professionals and businesses can take advantage of this opportunity.
If your clients are Health Partners members, they may be able to claim benefits for your services.
To claim, members can use their AUSactive member number as a provider number.
What Clients Need to Know
Clients should understand that private health insurance does not guarantee a rebate.
Therefore, it is important to contact Health Partners directly. This will help clarify:
- Coverage conditions
- Referral requirements
- Rebate amounts
