AUSactive has been selected as an affiliate partner in the inaugural Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Play Well Affiliate Program to help deliver the Play Well Strategy in 2025.
Play Well – Australia’s Sport Participation Strategy has been developed to create great sporting environments and experiences, where individuals of all ages, backgrounds, genders and abilities can come together to access the benefits of sport.
The launch of the program is an exciting time for the active health and exercise sector and the ASC as we work together to connect and align the great work happening across the sport and physical activity ecosystem.
AUSactive General Manager, Industry Standards and Development Chris Alexander said the selection as affiliate partner was exciting.
“AUSactive is excited to be selected for the Play Well Affiliate program. As an Affiliate of Play Well – Australia's Sport Participation Strategy, we will work with the ASC to create a connected and collaborative industry that supports all organisations to provide safe, welcoming, inclusive and fun experiences for all to get moving,” Mr Alexander said.
“We will contribute to the implementation of the strategy through delivering aligned programs and activities and are committed to supporting the sector to achieve Play Well’s objectives and vision.
ASC Executive General Manager Sport and Community Capability and Chair of the Play Well Leadership Group Richard McInnes said the affiliate program was vital to keeping Australians active.
“We’ve made some great progress as we celebrate one year since the strategy was launched and we’re delighted to partner with these organisations who play a key role in helping Australians be active,” Mr McInnes said.
“The ASC looks forward to working with the Affiliates to complement the ongoing work with the National Sporting Organisations and National Sporting Organisations for people with Disabilities to bring the Play Well strategy to life around Australia.
“These sport and recreation organisations are aligned with our mission to create safe, welcoming, inclusive and fun sporting experiences and will help us deliver on our Horizon One outcomes which includes creating a connected, collaborative and aligned sporting sector.”
