24/7 and Functional Group Fitness franchise STEPZ Fitness has joined AUSactive as it continues its growth strategy in Queensland and New South Wales.
With 17 locations already across both states STEPZ Franchisor Sam Waller said joining Australia’s health and wellbeing industry association would help in its mission to enable as many Australians as possible to change their lives through health and fitness.
“Having positively impacted the lives of more than 25,000 people, we are aiming to scale our approach and this professional registration with AUSactive will help us on this journey,” Mr Waller said.
“I want to ensure our gym owners and trainers practice the highest standard of service excellence and safety. Our partnership with AUSactive will also help in the advocacy of our industry while also attracting and retaining our staff through continued learning and access to industry leading resources.
“For me personally, as a franchisor of a small but growing boutique franchise, I look forward to being more involved in shaping the future of the Australian fitness industry by working more closely with the team at AUSactive.”
AUSactive CEO Barrie Elvish said welcoming more businesses like STEPZ to the AUSactive community would further instill consumer confidence in the fitness industry.

Mr Waller said STEPZ currently employs more than 30 people across its network of studios and plans more openings by the end of the year.
“We are looking forward to opening Muswellbrook in Northern New South Wales very soon and are planning a total of five new opening by the end of the year. It’s a very exciting time for the STEPZ network!” Mr Waller said.
