Personal Training & Health Management Pathways
Personal trainers may be eligible to support clients under health management or chronic condition programs, particularly where exercise is prescribed to improve long-term health outcomes.
These services are typically:
- Program-based (not casual sessions)
- Delivered 1:1 or in small groups
- Focused on long-term behaviour change and health improvement
This pathway is ideal for:
- Personal trainers
- Strength and conditioning professionals
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualification Requirements
To be eligible, you must hold a government-accredited Certificate IV in Fitness (e.g. SIS40215).
Important Education Rules
- Qualifications will not be recognised if:
- The course was completed entirely online or via correspondence.
- Clinical or practical components were not completed under supervision.
- Course Delivery Requirements
A minimum of 80 hours of supervised practical training.
- Training must:
- Be conducted on campus.
- Be supervised by a qualified trainer
- Be delivered by a trainer qualified at the same level.
- Be delivered by someone holding appropriate training and assessment credentials.
- Online learning must not exceed 50% of the total course delivery.
- You must hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate
- You must complete 20 CPD hours per year.
You must hold current Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
