What is Self-Directed Learning

AUSactive Registered Professionals may apply for CECs for researching, reading, viewing and/ or listening to the following professional resources with appropriate learning within the Scope of Practice for AUSactive Professionals. Professional resources include:

· Research based, peer reviewed journal articles

· Publications endorsed by an Association, Government or University

· Research based podcasts or lectures* (online or in-person) with a minimum duration of 50 minutes

*Note: Lectures undertaken as part of current higher education study are not applicable. Refer to the Higher Education Exercise Science or Related Subject criteria to claim CECs for the completion of university subjects.

Research based: An accumulation of facts, based on scientific evidence identified

Peer reviewed: Research reviewed and assessed by experts in the respective field

How many CECs can AUSactive Professionals attain through Self-Directed Learning?

1 CEC per professional resource, up to a maximum of 4 CECs per registration period.

How do AUSactive Professionals provide evidence of Self-Directed Learning?

You can upload your Self Directed Learning evidence via your dashboard. Go to your CEC Diary and click “New Entry” then “Manual Entry”. Choose the option for Self-Directed Learning and enter the details in the form and submit!
