Yarra Leisure was one of the early adopters of the AUSactive Business Accreditation program, undertaking their first audit back in 2019, and they are now proud to be the first group of facilities in Australia to complete three accreditation audits – a major milestone that cements their status as leaders in the health and fitness industry.

AUSactive has announced the appointment of AUSactive CEO Ken Griffin, bringing extensive experience in healthcare, advocacy and leadership to the organisation.

Katya Osipova brings over 30 years of experience in professional services, having held senior leadership roles, including as a former Big 4 Partner, across Australia and internationally. A highly regarded business leader and governance professional, she has advised a wide range of listed and private organisations on audit, financial reporting, and corporate governance.

AUSactive is currently working closely with Private Healthcare Australia (PHA) to lead reform in private health insurance, with the goal of expanding access to evidence-based preventive health services, including Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi, and structured exercise programs delivered by accredited professionals.

Authored by Dr Betul Sekendiz, Managing Director of Fitness Industry Risk Management Consulting (FIRMC®), Associate Professor of Business and Sport Management at the International College of Management Sydney (ICMS), and the Chair of the Health and Fitness Industry Standards Council, the new edition reflects the latest legal and regulatory requirements while addressing the growing diversity and complexity of services across the industry.
