AUSactive is excited to unveil the Top 20 Australian Fitness Trends for 2025–26, revealing continued growth in wellness-focused and inclusive exercise options across all age groups.

AUSactive, Australia’s peak body for exercise and active health, today announced a simplified pathway to register as a Group Exercise Leader (GEL), recognising Les Mills Initial Training and similar pre-choreographed certifications alongside mandatory safety requirements. The initiative enables trainees to start teaching sooner while strengthening safety and quality standards across the sector.

With a sold-out crowd of 500 industry leaders, educators, trainers and business owners, the event was a spectacular celebration of passion, innovation and excellence across the sector.

Brunswick Baths and Fawkner Leisure Centre, managed by Y Victoria, have once again been recognised as leaders in the Australian health and fitness industry, maintaining their Quality Business Accreditation with AUSactive, the nationally recognised peak body for the exercise and active health sector.

AUSactive is proud to announce Aqualink Nunawading and Box Hill have officially achieved Quality Business Accreditation, recognising their commitment to excellence in health, fitness, and community wellbeing.

Health Partners, a proud not-for-profit health fund, has been supporting South Australians for more than 85 years. The agreement means eligible Health Partners members may now be able to claim benefits for personal training sessions, classes and gym memberships under their Extras policy when part of a medically necessary health management plan.

Yarra Leisure was one of the early adopters of the AUSactive Business Accreditation program, undertaking their first audit back in 2019, and they are now proud to be the first group of facilities in Australia to complete three accreditation audits – a major milestone that cements their status as leaders in the health and fitness industry.
