To become an approved CEC Provider with AUSactive, your program or event must:

have relevance and value to exercise professional knowledge and skill
meet current national industry standards and guidelines, and
reinforce and support the Scope of Practice for Exercise Professionals

Approved programs or events address any of the accepted activities that fall within the professional scope and boundaries of Registered Personal Trainers, Gym Instructors, Group Exercise Instructors or Group Exercise Leaders, as described in Section 6 of the Scope of Practice for Exercise Professional position statement. They should also support:

expectations of the relevant professional role
pre-requisite qualification and education requirements
intended clientele and settings
adherence to ethical, moral and legal regulations and obligations

Continuing Education Credits (CECs) are awarded to industry education programs and events that are aligned to the Scope of Practice for AUSactive Registered Profesionals.

The number of CECs allocated to an education program or event depends on the quality of the education being delivered; the duration of the program or event and whether it includes an assessment of participant knowledge and skill gained.
